by-product removal and treatment – bar screen waste
Reading time:This matter is often treated like household waste and sent to landfill sites or incinerated.
Transport limitations are increasingly imposing post-treatment involving dewatering and compacting, such as:
- dewatering (and transport) using a mobile skip with integral compacting facility (photo 6); wastewater content is between 75 and 80% and the bulk density of the compacted matter in the skip will be approximately 0.75 to 0.8,
- a mechanical (photo 6) or suitable hydraulic press (photo 7) is used for compacting; the compacted product can have a water content of approximately 55 to 65% and a bulk density of 0.60 to 0.65.
