Reading time:Odours present in process wastewaters vary substantially depending on the type of industry or manufacturing facility. Odour pollution is mainly addressed with pre-treatment that may, if necessary, include an aeration/stripping phase, and each case must be analysed individually.
Conversely, odours created by the wastewater treatment process (biological and, above all, sludge) will be fairly similar to those found in UWW treatment plants and will, therefore, be processed using the same conventional methods (see degasification, odour control, evaporation).
